Ann Walling Simms

November 15, 1950 - February 3, 2011

Services for Miss Ann Walling Simms, age 60, of Fayetteville will be conducted Sunday at 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Miss Simms passed away Thursday night at Donalson Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Robert Wilson Simms and Lillian Martin Simms who survives. Miss Simms was a retired social worker with the Tennessee Dept of Human Services, former teacher at Huntland and a former history teacher at Fayetteville Jr. High School. She was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, an avid reader, an animal lover and was a board member for the Foster Children’s Board.

Survivors in addition to her mother include a brother William Edward Simms and wife Lana of Fayetteville, two sisters Ellen Cooter and husband Lance, Mary Harris and husband Bob all of Fayetteville, nieces and nephews Reuben and Lori Harris of Fayetteville, Jack Cooter of Fayetteville, Jim Bob Cooter of Indianapolis, Matt Simms of Nashville, Rob Simms of Fayetteville and Sara Stephens of Murfreesboro and several grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12pm to 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Lincoln County Humane Society.
