Billie Ellis Gifford
September 2, 1930 - February 2, 2012
Funeral services for Billie Ellis Gifford, age 81 of Elora, will be conducted Sunday morning at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Sisk Cemetery in Estill Fork, AL at 1:30 PM beside his wife Margaret Evelyn Bailey Gifford. Mr. Gifford passed away at his residence Thursday night.
He was a native of Jackson County, AL and the son of the late General Forrest and Bessie Sims Gifford. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and a former supervisor of Hart & Cooley in Huntsville, Alabama.
Survivors include four sons; Randy Gifford and wife Debbie of Flintville, Billie Gifford Jr and wife Mae of Elora, Jerry R. Gifford of Elora and Tim Gifford and wife Larika of Flintville, seven grandchildren Bruce Gifford, Kandie Hill, Kristen Noah, Bekah Hardiman, Kendall Jones, Meghan Gifford, and Forrest Gifford and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Gifford, Devin Gifford, Sophie Hardiman and Spencer Noah. He was preceded in death by brothers Felix, Fred and Rayford Gifford and step-brother Tiny Nichols.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
