Funeral services for Mr. Charles R. “Buster” Thompson, Jr, age 83, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11:00am Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Thompson passed away Saturday in Lincoln Care Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Charles Ray and Dennia Moore Thompson Sr.  He was retired from Olan Mills, served in both the U. S. Army and U. S. Navy and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include Marie Thompson, daughter Judy Staggs and husband Ronnie of Fayetteville, three sons Dan Hall and wife Penny of Murfreesboro, Martin Hall and wife Brenda of Lynchburg and Rickey and wife Pattie Hall of Knoxville, brother W. H. Freeman of Murfreesboro, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Hammock and brother Thomas Thompson.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday night 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
