Graveside service for Mr. Chester Whitfield, age 79, of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday at 10 AM at Stewarts Cemetery with Bro. Billy Fowler officiating.  Mr. Whitfield passed away Wednesday afternoon at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Whitfield was a son of the late Louis Ray and Bessie Mae Brooks Whitfield,   a native of Lincoln County, an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, a mechanic, and a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Gracie Lee Carson Whitfield, son Clayton Chester Whitfield and wife Andrea of Huntsville, AL, daughter Doris Jean Quick and husband Dwight of Fayetteville, five grandchildren, special sister-in-law Mary S. Bass, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Billy Hugh Whitfield and Louis C. Whitfield.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.
