Funeral services for Mr. Donald Gene Pettie age 52, will be conducted Friday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stewart’s Cemetery. Mr Pettie passed away September 27, 2011 in Miami, Florida.

A native of Madison County, AL, he was the son of the late James Austin and Dorothy Henderson Pettie who survives. Mr Pettie was a roofer.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his daughter Melissa Brooke Umazor of Bay Minette, AL, sisters: Annelle Perry of  Taft, Vickie Taylor and husband Tommy of Fayetteville, Sherri Hatley and husband Patrick of Kelso, brothers: Jimmy Pettie of Flintville, Gordon Pettie and wife Karen  of Fayetteville. Mr Pettie was preceded in death by a brother: James Bartlett Pettie.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
