Funeral services for Mr. Ernie D. Hughey, age 80, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 AM at the Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Mr. Hughey passed away Sunday at St. Thomas Hospital.

  Mr. Hughey was a native of Marshall County, TN and was a son of the late Buford and Nellie Aline Curtis Hughey. He was employed by the Elk Yarn Mills for 23 years, was a veteran of the United Stated Air Force and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

  Survivors include his wife: Inez McPherson Hughey of Fayetteville, one Step-son: Lannie R. Pitts of Fayetteville, four sisters: Mary Tipper of Petersburg, Joyce Norwood of McBurg, Juell Adams of Fayetteville, and Elaine Moore of Flintville, one brother: Doug Hughey of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.

  In addition to his parents Mr. Hughey was preceded in death by one sister: Patty Dorning.

  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home.
