Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Monks Hughes, age 88, of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday at 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Leonard Hughes who passed away in November. Mrs. Hughes passed away Wednesday night in Lincoln Medical Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and daughter of the late Jimmy and Mary Neely Monks. Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Janice Dendy and husband Bob of Dickson, TN, two sons Douglas Hughes and wife Mary of Trenton, GA, Randal Hughes of Austin, TX, sister Pauline Chapman of Fayetteville, seven grandchilden, eleven great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday night 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
