Funeral services for Mr. John Thomas Monks, age 87, of Fayetteville will be

conducted at 11am Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ennis Hyman officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Monks passed away Sunday March 7th in Huntsville Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late John T. and Mary Moore Monks.  He was a brick mason, retired from Redstone Arsenal and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Monks was a 50 year Mason and a Shriner, a member of the Elks, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Ethelyne Beddingfield Monks of Fayetteville, sister Alda Hurt of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 4-7 at Higgins Funeral  Home.
