Funeral service for Mrs. Lela Jones Sawyers age 84, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 1:00PM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tandy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sawyers passed away Sunday in Lincoln Care Center.

A native of Guntersville, Al and the daughter of the late Roy S. and Phenie Mae Green Jones. Mrs. Sawyers was a homemaker, a farmer, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include daughters Wanda Fay Hudson of Fayetteville, Betty Joyce Gordon of Fayetteville, Brenda Jo Cowart of Owens Crossroads AL, sons Bobby Joe Sawyers of Fayetteville, Thomas Jefferson Sawyers of Tullahoma, a brother Lewis Nunnley of Fayetteville,sister Rosie Nell Phillips of Tullahoma, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs Sawyers was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Joe Sawyers, children Sadie Garrett, Virgil Sawyers and Larry Sawyers, grandchild Pamela Cowart, Tammy Sawyers Shelton.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
