Obituary

Funeral services for Mary Ellen (Smith) Allen, age 84 of the Red Oak community, will be conducted Friday July 31, 2015 at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights Cemetery. Mrs. Allen passed away Thursday morning July 30, 2015 at her residence.
A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Elzie “Blue” and Lillian Hamlin Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the McBurg Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years Gary L. Allen of Cornersville, daughters Pamela Allen and Shelia Allen both of Cornersville, son Danny (Brenda) Allen of Chapel Hill, grandchildren Gary E. (Britney) Allen of Cornersville, Joshua (Amber) Allen of Murfreesboro, great-grandchildren Madison and Haylee Allen and one sister Christine Armstrong of Cornersville.
Visitation with the family will be Friday July 31, 2015 from 11AM-1PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
