Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lou Miles Sullenger, age 92, of Lynchburg will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Sullenger officiating. Burial will follow in Lynchburg Cemetery beside her husband R.L. “Bull” Sullenger. Mrs. Sullenger passed away Monday afternoon at Harton Regional Hospital in Tullahoma.
A daughter of the late James Arthur Miles and Sarah Violet Thomas Miles Winfrey, she was a native of Lincoln County, employed with the Moore County School System, and of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include sons Dean Sullenger of Huntsville, Gilbert N. Sullenger and wife Gail of Elora, and Tommy Sullenger and wife Debbie of Lynchburg, daughter-in-law Jean Sullenger of Lynchburg, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, son R.L. Sullenger, Jr., and grandson Keith Sullenger.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-9 PM Tuesday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
