Funeral services for Mrs. Liz Honea (Ma Honea), age 87, of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday at 2 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Nichols and Pastor Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery where she will be buried beside her husband T.C. Honea who passed away in 1993. Mrs. Honea passed away Wednesday evening at Maury Regional Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Edith (Sims) and Will Vaughn. She was a retired dietician at Lincoln County Nursing Home and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

Survivors include son Ray Honea and wife Doris of the Yukon Community, daughters Linda Blankenship of Fayetteville and Vicky Towry and husband Johnny of Fayetteville, daughter-in-law Connie Honea of Shelbyville, nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, brothers James Vaughn and wife Brenda of the Yukon Community and Sonny Vaughn and wife Edna of the Yukon Community, sisters June Thompson of Fayetteville and Rosie Honea of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by sons Bobby Honea and Ricky Honea, brothers Robert Vaughn and Blackie Vaughn and sister Lucille Coats.

Visitation with the family will be Friday after 5PM at Maranatha Baptist Church. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Memorial donations may be made to the Prosperity Cemetery.
