Funeral services for Robert W. “Bob” Forrester, age 83 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Forrester passed away Monday night in Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Forrester was born and raised in Lincoln County by the late Clyde and Catherine Nix Forrester. He graduated from Central High School and began work, while a senior in high school, at Tanner Farmers Supply and continued his work there for 49 years. After retirement he sold cattle mineral to his many customers and worked on his farm. He helped with the start of South Lincoln Recreation facility, was an active 4-H member and a Scout leader. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for over 10 years, was an active Gideon member and loved farm life. He loved the Lord, was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, and was a friend to everyone.
Survivors include his wife Dot Harris Forrester of Fayetteville, sons Gary (Paula) Forrester and Mike (Sandy) Forrester both of Fayetteville, step-son Terry (Patsy) Campbell of Alabama, daughter-in-law Alicia Campbell (Fonville) Mitchell of Fayetteville, sister Connie (Hayden) Mullins of Shelbyville, grandchildren Brandon (Amy) Forrester and Hilary (Scott) Brown, both of Ohio and Michelle Wilbourn of Alabama. Step-grandchildren Eric (Erica) Campbell of Spring Hill, TN, Angela (Kenny) Campbell of Murfreesboro, TN, Brittany (Garet) Gordon of Memphis and Janna (Zach) Means of Fayetteville, great-grandchildren Damion Wilbourn, Renee and Bri Brown, and two step-great-grandsons Mason and
Wyatt Means. He was preceded in death by step-son Jeff Campbell.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church, 10 Wiley Hollow Road, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334 or to the Fayetteville Gideon Camp, P. O. Box 166, Fayetteville, TN 37334 in his memory.

I remember as a child on the farm many times going to Tanner’s. Mr. Bobby was always so nice to everyone (the kind of customer service you just don;t get any more) sadly. God bless you as you say goodbye to this fine man.

Mrs. Dot, I was saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Don and I were at the Post Office and were praying for you and Bob.
Dot, Eddy and I were so sorry to hear that Bobby had passed away. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers everyday.
We had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Bobby when we became a part of the Gideons several years ago. Bobby was always willing to help out. I remember his kindness when I gave my first Gideon presentation at their church. Our prayers go out to his family during this time.

Terry, Patsy and family, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to have to once again be saying t that I am sorry! I think the world of you even though you are not here! Terry I know all about stepdaddies! I have one! I don’t ever think he called me his stepdaughter unless he had to for legal reasons, it hurt him too much! He loved us kids just like his own , so I know how painful this is for you! My heart and prayers go out to you because I know and Patsy does too since we lost our daddies back to back. Hang on to every precious memory and try to keep finding digging up more, because that is what will help you keep going through this time . Love you guys! Prraying for your family, Pam Kelly

I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF UNCLE BOBBY HE ALWAYS GOT MY SISTER TERESA AND I MIXED UP.THE LATEST MEMORY I HAVE IS ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO HE HAD PLANTED POTATOES AND NEEDED HELP TO DIG AND PICK UP JUST HAPPENED TO BE VISITING MOM THAT DAY AND WE MADE A TRIP UP THE HILL TO HIS AND AUNT DOTS HOME.HE DROVE THE 4 WHEELER AND I HELD THE PLOW IN PLACE BEHIND HIM AND WE DUG POTATOES THAT DAY! THEY WERE SOME OF THE NICEST POTATOES IVE EVER SEEN SO THANKFUL I WAS AVAILABLE TO HELP HIM .I WONDER WHAT SIZE POTATOE PATCH HE WILL HAVE IN HEAVEN!

Mrs. Dot, I am the daughter of Blackie and Velma Karch. I remember you from the days you worked at Serbin. I also knew Bobby through my late husband who was a distant relative on the Nix side. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. Bobby was a good man, and he has left a wonderful legacy for his children and grandchildren.

Bob and Dot, my sister-in-law, are dearly loved by our family. Dot has been faithfully caring for her husband for a long time and our prayers are with her and her family that she will feel the peace that only God can give.

I knew “Bobby” over 60 years ago while in 4-H work and working at Tanner’s for a short while. I grew up at Boonshill, graduated from high school there and graduated from MTSU. Have not lived in Lincoln County for over 50 years, but am sorry to hear of your loss and you have my prayers.

Was not a close friend as he was a grade ahead of me. I still remember how he looked back them, and that is good for my age. I have prayed for the family and friends and will continue this week. I am sure he is in good hands now. Roy
