It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Worley Lester McCoy, age 84, of Fayetteville. Mr. McCoy passed away Saturday morning, January 10, 2009, at Lincoln Medical Center.

A son of the late Forrest Dean and Golda Bowshier McCoy, he was a native of Mt. Sterling, OH, a farmer, retired from the Department of Defense in Huntsville, and a member and past deacon of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Muriel Pashal McCoy, daughter Marita McCoy Durham of Athens, son Lester Dean McCoy of Fayetteville, grandchildren Madeline Claire’ Durham of Athens, Dean Kobe McCoy, Lawrence Kade McCoy, and Kara Elizabeth Layman all of Fayetteville, sisters Geraldine Flajole of Dayton, OH, Barbara Walsh of Las Vegas, NV, and Rose Marie McCoy of Fayetteville, and brother Lawrence Dean McCoy of Archata, CA.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home. Mr. McCoy will be interred in Grance Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, OH at a later date.
